Water Quality Sampling Technician
Location: Canwick, Lincoln
Hours: Full time, 37hrs Mon-Fri, 6:30-14:30 + standby rota
Salary: £14.56 per hour
Contract: Temp for 12 weeks (Perm Possibility)
Our client is looking for a dependable Water Quality Sampling Technician to support essential water quality compliance work. You’ll travel between sites to prepare equipment, collect samples, and deliver them to laboratories, working independently in all weather conditions.
The role is varied and hands-on, and you’ll act professionally when visiting customer properties or trade sites. Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and adherence to procedures is crucial, including following lone-working and Health & Safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled and investigative water sampling across a range of sites
- Prepare sampling equipment and ensure accurate sample collection
- Transport samples safely to laboratory locations
- Work independently, managing daily routes and time-critical tasks
- Interact professionally with customers when accessing properties for sampling
- Follow Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and operational protocols
- Uphold quality standards in line with internal procedures and accreditation requirements
- Participate in a standby rota, including evenings and weekends when required
Requirements:
- Full, valid UK manual driving licence
- Understanding of occupational driving challenges
- Experience following procedures, safe systems of work, and risk assessments
- Ability to work to deadlines without compromising safety or quality
- Customer-focused attitude with confidence to approach customers unannounced
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to undertake manual lifting up to 25kg
- Flexibility to participate in standby duties, including some out-of-hours sampling
