Temp Purchasing Assistant

Bedford | Full-time | Office-based

£13.40 – £13.60 per hour

We’re recruiting for a Temporary Purchasing Associate to join a well-established manufacturing business in Bedford. This temporary role is to cover planned leave within the purchasing team for a few weeks, offering a great opportunity for someone with relevant purchasing or manufacturing experience who is available to start quickly.

You’ll play an important role in keeping the purchasing function running smoothly, including:

• Raising purchase orders in SAP (via MRP, Kanban cards, and requisitions).
• Expediting orders and chasing suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Issuing consignment stock to production staff.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating delivery information in the system.
• Providing general administrative and purchasing support across the department.

Requirements:

• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expediting experience with suppliers.
• Familiarity with SAP and procurement processes.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
