Senior Commercial Officer
Location: Bedford
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Hours: 38 hours, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We’re working on behalf of a unique and long-established organisation with a reputation for excellence in engineering and research. They are now looking to hire a Senior Commercial Officer to join their busy Commercial Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced professional with a background in commercial operations, contract management, or bid support, ideally within a technical or engineering-led environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of commercial proposals and bids
- Prepare and submit customer proposals and lead contract negotiations
- Ensure pricing and offer development follow internal governance and approval processes
- Provide commercial input into project planning and risk assessments
- Manage senior stakeholder expectations throughout the bid and contract process
- Interpret contract requirements and advise internal delivery teams
- Assist with contract closure and related administration
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Commercial or Business Operations role
- Strong customer engagement and negotiation skills
- 5+ years of UK residency to comply with security clearance
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with a good understanding of commercial frameworks
- Confident user of Excel and other MS Office packages
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
