Lab Technician
Location: Bedford
Job Type: Temp Ongoing, Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 5.15pm, 3.30pm Friday
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Start Date: 2nd June or 30th June
We are seeking two dedicated and skilled Lab Technicians to join our clients Research and Development team in Bedford.
As a Lab Technician, you will provide hands-on technical support within the laboratories, working across all projects and activities within the Research and Development Department, including post-market support for consumer in-vitro diagnostic products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and assembling strip components and devices.
- Preparing reagents such as Virkon, buffers, standards, and conjugates.
- Coordinating with the Clinicals Department for sample collections as needed.
- Planning and performing component or device testing.
- Recording, collating, and reporting data from your work.
- Supporting verification and validation testing.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a scientific Research & Development laboratory.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as balances, pipettes, pH meters, and stirrers.
- Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice and Health & Safety protocols in a Containment Level 2 environment.
- Educational qualifications in maths or science (e.g., HNC/HND in a scientific area preferred).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence with computer software, including Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload efficiently.
