Domestic Waste Technician
Location: Field-based – Peterborough area (use of own vehicle required)
Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: 40hrs, flexible shifts between 7am & 6pm
Salary: £13.22 per hour

Our client is seeking a proactive Domestic Waste Technician to support the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of domestic waste across their regional Water Recycling Centres.
This is a hands-on, mobile role where you’ll be the key point of contact for customers and tanker drivers, ensuring waste is managed to high operational and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations at domestic waste import locations
- Carry out routine site and equipment checks, resolving issues as needed
- Maintain excellent site housekeeping and support health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Sample and assess incoming waste to ensure regulatory compliance, escalating any issues
- Provide friendly, professional support to customers, drivers, and on-site teams
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Flexible approach to working hours within core business times
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Comfortable working outdoors and in operational site environments
- Knowledge of wastewater regulations or the sewage industry (desirable)
