Account Manager

Location: Huntingdon

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, 37.5hrs

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm (4.30pm Fri)

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (depending on proven experience)

We are seeking a proactive and personable Account Manager to join a leading UK packaging manufacturer. This role focuses on maintaining and growing existing client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll manage a portfolio of accounts, including some key clients, and play a vital role in driving business growth through attentive account management and commercial acumen.

This position is ideal for a motivated, organised, and confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain, and grow existing client accounts, identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare and negotiate client proposals, pricing, and contracts.
  • Plan and forecast client requirements, ensuring seamless supply during peak periods.
  • Conduct occasional client visits for relationship building, product demos, or issue resolution.
  • Take full ownership of allocated clients once handed over from the Business Development team.
  • Provide holiday cover and support across the wider account management team.
  • Handle day-to-day client communications, including orders, deliveries, and enquiries.
  • Update clients on production schedules, stock holdings and resolve any issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in account management or client services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Background in packaging is advantageous but not essential.
  • Positive, solution-oriented attitude with a sense of humour.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and blue-chip clients.
  • Able to commute reliably to Huntingdon HQ and travel to clients when required.
